What is it that YOU want?

I spent the first 15 years of my playing (and arguably 26 years of my life!) looking to everyone else to find what would make me happy, where I should be putting my energy and how I should be living my life. It was only at a crisis point that I chose a different way, and started looking inside and listening to that little voice inside. Turns out that was the most important voice of all. In this episode I share my journey with it all, and the pain and struggle that still exists in me.

How do you eat well on tour?

Keeping on top of eating fairly healthily on the road can be a nightmare! There's not always great options, or sometimes there's great and very tempting options, plus you're working, so you deserve a treat every now AND then, or just all the time! We're tired, we just want something nice, easy, breezy, beautiful, and if often affects out waistlines, energy levels, and general mood.

108 - Not Quitting! (Welcome Back)

Welcome back to A Drummer's Guide To... !!!

It's been a 2 year hiatus (I can hardly belive it!) and now I'm BACK! Tacking all the subjects surrounding what it takes to be a professional musician that ISN'T playing your instrument! (Well maybe there's a bit of that, but not much!) 

This week, I am mainly talking about why I stopped doing episodes, and how I have decided to tackle those things head on so I can be doing more of what I love in life, which is helping you essentially! :-) It's inevitable that when you do anything in life, there will be friction points, so best to try to anticipate those points, and put in place some sort of plan to deal with it if/when they come up. As my dad always says, 'there's always a reason to not do something' - so why not tackle it before it blindsides you if you can!
